Chemical Manufacturing Technician I
The Chemical Manufacturing Technician I will support HVM manufacturing processes for production of standard finished goods and non-standard materials under guidance of process owner. A successful Technician I will support Engineering to train and certify Operators in the HVM areas, be available on site to support critical Operations (including bottling days), track and manage HVM inventory of critical production materials, and flag discrepant material and events to DRB/MRB, documenting clear RFCs for common excursions.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Support On Job Training (OJT) of Operator 1 and 2 roles
- Interface with Training Coordinator and QA Tech to update training records and training recertification (note that Auditing of Training competency will belong to QA)
- Perform standard production activities and serve as support for Operator 1 and 2 duties, as needed
- Become primary or backup operations support for the following:
- Run Precision Blending Station (PBS) for standard HVM blends
- Perform production activities and assist engineering in training operators
- Shipping coordinator for trace metals analysis to/from vendor
- Assist engineers in establishing and maintaining updated documentation
- Update Process Instructions (PIs) as directed by Engineering
- Assist and support production data workup as needed
- Contribute to key quality processes, such as DRB/MRB and Change Control
- Provide escalation response to production challenges
- Other duties as assigned
Key Qualifications:
- Associates degree or high school diploma (or equivalent)
- 3 years of experience in adjacent manufacturing work experience, or 1-2 years in a closely related chemical manufacturing or semiconductor facility environment
- Demonstration of active and effective communication skills, verbal, and written
- Well organized, flexible, enthusiastic, and eager to learn
- Self-driven and proactive in achieving goals
- Must be detail-oriented and safety-minded
- Experience with high-purity chemical handling is a plus
- Working knowledge of Microsoft products (Excel, SharePoint, PowerPoint, etc) or equivalent
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment (responsiveness and flexibility)
- Strong teamwork, collaboration, and interpersonal skills
- Continuous quality and process improvement minded
- Ability to successfully complete a pre-employment drug test
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to wear a respirator (upon training/certification) for processes that may require it
- Ability to wear standard cleanroom attire in areas that require it
- Ability to wear standard PPE in areas that require it
- Ability to lift 50lbs
- Ability to move full 55-gallon drums with appropriate equipment
- Ability to use a glovebox with thick rubber gloves to accurately pour, pipet, mix, and handle chemicals in small vials or bottles
- Ability to operate heavy machinery, including, but not limited to forklifts and drum lifters.
- Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time
- Ability to use a keyboard and mouse for computer data entry and/or analysis, and presenting data
- 40 hours/week or more, may vary depending on the needs of the department; nominal shift is Sunday-Wednesday or Wednesday-Saturday, 7am-5:30pm
- 100% of work hours are expected to be onsite

- Occasional weekend and overtime may be required due to production operations support needs
- May be required to work company-observed holidays to support operations
