Operations Shift Supervisor

Corvallis, OR

Inpria Corporation, a subsidiary of JSR Corporation, has an immediate opening for an Operations Shift Supervisor based in Corvallis, OR. We seek an engaging and conscientious candidate to join our High-Volume Manufacturing team, contributing directly to our success by supervising and mentoring our team of Operators and Technicians.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Maintain a safe working environment, ensure proper PPE is being used, and report safety and environmental incidents to EHS for corrective action
  • Supervise staff, provide daily guidance and mentoring, manage schedules and timecards, and address performance issues as they arise
  • Oversee daily operations, document shift pass-downs, and understand daily work-in-progress
  • Uphold Inpria’s Quality standards (training provided)
  • Coordinate with other departments, such as Engineering and Logistics, for the production and shipment of finished goods
  • Fill in for missing Operations staff, as needed, to prevent delays in manufacturing or shipping
  • Ensure staff keeps current on all required training and certifications
  • Other duties as assigned

Key Qualifications

  • BS degree with 2+ years management experience, or 4+ years management experience, ideally in a chemical manufacturing environment
  • Track record of safe manufacturing and laboratory practices
  • Active and effective verbal, written, and electronic communication skills
  • Self-motivated and proactive in achieving goals
  • Teamwork skills to thrive in a fast-paced collaborative manufacturing operations environment
  • Ability to successfully complete a pre-employment drug test

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to walk and stand for extended periods
  • Ability to move 20 lbs. overhead
  • Ability to move to 40 lbs. from floor to countertop
  • Ability to move full 55-gallon drums with appropriate equipment
  • Ability to use a glovebox with thick rubber gloves to accurately pour, pipet, mix, and handle chemicals in small bottles
  • Ability to wear standard cleanroom attire and required PPE
  • May require fitting and use of a respirator for specific tasks
  • Ability to use a hand truck, drum lifter, and pallet jack to transport heavy objects
  • Ability to use a glovebox that requires handling of small objects with thick rubber gloves
  • Ability to use a keyboard and mouse for computer data entry and/or analysis, and presenting data
  • Ability to work 10- or 12-hour days, including weekend days and some holidays, depending on assigned shift; Inpria maintains a 7-day schedule, 7:00 am-7:30 pm
