Staff Analytical Chemist

Inpria Corporation, a subsidiary of JSR Corporation, has an immediate opening for a Staff Analytical Chemist based in Corvallis, OR. We seek an enthusiastic and conscientious candidate to join our diverse Analytical/QC team contributing directly to our Production Support Operations and focusing on routine NMR analytical methods under the direction of highly experienced analytical chemists. Primary Responsibilities:

  • Collect and analyze QC data using NMR on reagents, intermediates, and finished goods following documented work instructions under the direction of senior chemists
  • Perform hands-on sample preparation for NMR analysis
  • Acquire and interpret H, C, F, Sn NMR spectra
  • Present results to the technical team
  • Enter QC data to QMS system and monitor SPC charts
  • Support additional analytical tests including but not limited to: titrations, spectroscopic analyses, LCMS, and TGA
  • Troubleshoot instrumentation as needed, following documented procedures

Key Qualifications:

  • BS in Chemistry or relevant related discipline with 0-2 years analytical lab experience
  • Hands-on experience in multinuclear NMR sample prep and analysis in an academic or industry setting
  • Working knowledge of H, C, F, Sn NMR techniques
  • Basic familiarity with other analytical instruments, such as GC-MS, ICP, and titration
  • Basic understanding of handling air-sensitive reagents in a glovebox
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment
  • Detail oriented and safety minded
  • Collaboration, effective communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Self-management and organizational skills
  • Basic understanding of statistics, QC metrics, and SPC charts
  • Working knowledge of JMP, MestReNova, TopSpin, or equivalent
  • Proficiency is MS Office Suite software

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift 30lbs from floor to countertop
  • Ability to lift 20lbs overhead
  • Ability to use a glovebox with thick rubber gloves to accurately pour, pipet, mix and handle chemicals in small bottles
  • Ability to wear standard laboratory attire
  • Ability to wear standard PPE
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to use a keyboard and mouse for computer data entry and/or analysis, and presenting data
