Senior Buyer

Inpria Corporation, a JSR company, has is seeking an experienced, hands-on Senior Buyer.  We seek an enthusiastic and conscientious candidate to join our diverse team as we continue to grow our business. This is a hands-on position in an R&D intensive manufacturing company that provides technical solutions to semiconductor customers worldwide. You will purchase material, supplies, equipment, and services at the most favorable terms for Inpria.  Working with the Supply Chain Manager, you will develop purchasing strategies, maintain positive relationships with suppliers, coordinate with internal teams regarding their supply needs, and oversee all purchasing activities. 

Primary Responsibilities: 

Monitor and follow applicable laws and regulations 

Drive the proficient use of the ERP/MRP system through standardized workflows 

Prepare purchase orders, solicit bid proposals, and review requisitions for goods and services 

Negotiate and administer contracts with suppliers, vendors, and other representatives 

Coordinate with Logistics and Planning departments to ensure adequate flow of materials to meet production needs 

Prepare and distribute reports for various business departments 

Collect, transform, and organize data to drive informed decision making 

Analyze price proposals, financial reports, and other data and information to determine reasonable prices 

Formulate policies and procedures for bid proposals and procurement of goods and services 

Maintain and review computerized or manual records of purchased items, costs, deliveries, product performance, and inventories 

Research and evaluate suppliers, based on price, quality, selection, service, support, availability, reliability, production and distribution capabilities, and the supplier's reputation and history 

Confer with staff, users, and vendors to discuss defective or unacceptable goods or services and determine corrective action 

Evaluate and monitor contract performance to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and to determine need for changes 

Monitor shipments to ensure that goods come in on time, and resolve problems related to undelivered goods 

Write and review product specifications, maintaining a working technical knowledge of the goods or services to be purchased 

Monitor changes affecting supply and demand, tracking market conditions, price trends, or futures markets 

Develop and maintain SOP documentation for key procurement processes 


Key Qualifications: 

BS/BA Degree in Materials Management, Business, Engineering, Chemistry, or related field 

5 years of experience in purchasing or buyer experience 

APICS certification preferred 

Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure in a high paced work environment 

Positive attitude, excellent communication skills, self-motivator, and superior organization skills 

Demonstrated ability to develop, maintain, and improve procurement processes 

Strong knowledge of inventory and supply chain management 

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and purchasing software 

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal 

Strong critical thinking and negotiation skills 

Strong planning and organizational skills 

Willingness to travel to visit both domestic and foreign suppliers 

Ability to work independently 

Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed; expected travel <10% 


Physical Requirements: 

Ability to lift 40 pounds from floor to table height 

Ability to sit or stand in one place for extended periods 

Ability to use a keyboard and mouse for computer data entry
